At Various other related sites as your own site is based upon IS one of the Keys to successfully helping YOUR Site to do well on the web as well as making your points/opinions/information well seen by the masses.

Reply back to: (IF you have a forum/blog for further discussions about your article certainly include it)

YOUR site may get some nice traffic or it may not. Either way your Domain is limited by its very virtue, where it is hosted, whether it is a Sub Domain or not, Keywords your site uses in general, How well it is linked back to, and many other factors.
To be associated with others who allow you to post content relevant to what your main mission goals are, you will be way ahead of the curve to getting your information well re viewed. At the same time if you follow the format per the above, you will be getting that all elusive Site Link Backs to YOUR SITE (which is where you really want most people to visit anyway)...
Getting GOOD QUALITY and effective link backs to your site does NOT MEAN simply posting a link to your site at some other site! This is where MOST people and even many so called SEO pros today GET IT ALL WRONG...
Merely requesting someone link back to your site is fine as it will be a link someone viewing the other site may be able to find and click on, however; in the eyes of the major search engines THEY will simply totally IGNORE IT as it is considered a Non Authoritative resource...
Putting more substantial CONTENT along with your link and credits for the content on the other hand IS AUTHORITATIVE and the search engines will certainly index that content including the Link Back to your site as the author
This is the proper way to proceed with that all elusive Search engine Friendly LINK BACKS and believe me the major search engines ALL weigh such link backs with REAL content within very heavily.
I tell everyone I know locally, and of course all those we are associated with or host sites for the importance of this method. It takes time to do such things of course, but when done properly YOU WILL See the results you need at your site for real success.

The St Augustine portal is meant for St Johns County residents and Column Categories/topics can be very diverse in nature (most anything you have in mind), as well as the other City oriented portals..
